We are saying farewell to CAN'T. From this day forward, we will not miss you, crave you or even call you. This is the year that we will challenge the unthinkable, live OUT loud, and have fun along the way. Starting right now with a family 10k on Thanksgiving Day!
We. Really. Can! You. Really. Can! I. Really Can!

It's not a trick of the eye or a runner's high. Waiting for you at the finish will be Santa, Mrs. Claus and an Elf directly from The Children's Theatre Show: HOLIDAY FOLLIES! It's a special finish line gift to keep the holiday spirit alive. The show itself "runs" Dec. 2-4 and 10-11 at the Taft Theatre. Tickets are hot!
National Anthem Singer Runs Too!
Cameron Cumbee, a Pre-Med student at UC, will sing first and then run fast too. The National Anthem singer is also featured in HOLIDAY FOLLIES at Children's Theatre.

No. No. No. This is NOT an accurate marker of your body fat composition. Phew!
- Not everyone carries weight in the same place.
- You need to check three sites--front of the thigh, right above the hip bone, and the triceps--with a professional.
- You can't accurately know how much of what you're grabbing is skin or fat.
- Other factors, like age and skin elasticity, need to be considered.

Will you catch a cold if you go out with wet hair?
You will certainly feel colder, but will be just fine. In a current study, a group of volunteers was inoculated with a cold virus. Half the group stayed in a warm room while the rest took a bath and stood dripping wet in a hallway for 30 minutes, then got dressed but wore wet socks for a few more hours. The wet group didn't catch any more colds than the dry. The conclusion? Feeling cold doesn't affect your immune system. The question? Who volunteers for these studies?

What are six healthy things we can work on this month?
- One more hour of sleep at least three days a week.
- Excuse diet- no more excuses on Monday, Wednesday and Friday!
- Take a multivitamin. No need to take a boatload of vitamins and supplements. Just one.
- Add one more family dinner to your week.
- Pack your lunch once more time a week.
- Find a workout friend or family member.

Does exercise make you hungrier?
For some people, regular exercise does make them hungrier, and fitter and happier! The key to satisfying post-workout hunger is to choose a small, protein-rich snack. Research shows that you will crave better foods and your metabolism will "burn" them up quicker.

Why can I do it?

Do this 10k for the first time... even as a walker. Although maybe a will sneak in a little running too!
